According to some people’s calendars, the summer is officially over as of today. Those calendars are wrong! The weatherman says that it’s going to be 90° and sunny today. That sounds like summer to me. And there are going to be a lot more days like this before the summer’s really over.
Now that the tourists and the summer residents have (mostly) packed up and headed back home, it’s the perfect time to get out on the lake and enjoy the space. As the area lakes get more popular–especially Lake Wisconsin–they also get a little more crowded. We’re a long way from having too many boats on the water, but the lakes are keeping busy during the summer. Now that Labor Day has come and gone, it’s a great time for those of us who are still around to get out and enjoy having the lake to ourselves.
Just because the kids are in school doesn’t mean that you can’t get out and enjoy the weekend on the lake. Or, take a day off during the week, while the kids are in school, and get out on the lake yourself. You’ve earned it.
The sun’s out, the water’s calm, and the calendar is wrong: as long as we can get out on the water, it’s still summer!
